The City of St. Peters wanted to improve water quality in the Country Lake Estates stormwater basin while also creating an amenity for residents. The outlet was plugged, banks were eroding, and geese were making a mess. Barr designed a high-capacity, safe outlet structure, along with a sediment forebay of limestone blocks. The forebay captures and holds sediment and trash in a confined area, allowing for easy maintenance. The structure doubles as a walkway and fishing pier. Buffer plantings stabilize the shoreline and create an easy-to-maintain, attractive plant buffer to trap debris and deter geese. We provided engineer’s estimates prior to bidding.
