We would also like to recognize Brad Dunn, the Mining & Exploration Division Program Chair, and Emily Rose, the Geosciences Program Area Manager, for their commitment to this community and preparation for this event.
Multiple staff members are scheduled to present at the conference. On Monday, February 28 at 2:05 p.m., Jason Harvey will present “Site-Specific Approaches for Developing Profiles of Critical State Soil Mechanics Parameters in Mine Tailings Deposits.” Then, at 2:45 p.m., Art Kalmes will present “Dam Safety Inventory and Semi-Quantitative Risk Analysis for Saskatchewan Potash Mines.”
On Tuesday, March 1 at 9:25 a.m., Dale Kolstad and Cory Anderson will present “Making Informed Operational Decisions for Water Management at a Remote Legacy Mine Using a Probabilistic Water Balance Model.” At 9:45 a.m., Kathy Johnson will present “Geochemical Model to Predict Aquifer Restoration Following Low pH In-Situ Uranium Recovery.” Dan Palo will also take part in the panel session “Geometallurgy: Inputs for Predicting Recover” at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Then, on Wednesday, March 2 at 9:25 a.m., Russ Sheets will present “Geotechnical Study for In-Pit Coal Refuse Tailings Cell”.
Additionally, we look forward to chairing sessions for the technical program. Russ Sheets is chairing the “Open Pit Geotechnical: Strategies for Design & Operation” session on Monday at 2:00 p.m. Dan Palo is Chairing the “Geometallurgy: Inputs for Predicting Recovery” session at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. On Wednesday at 9:00 a.m., Denise Levitan is Chairing the “Mine Water Treatment” session. Then, at 2:00 p.m., Amar Patel is Chairing the “Environmental Policy and Regulation” session.
