Helping Michiganders understand and address PFAS June 18, 2021 In recent years, an improved understanding of the toxicological effects of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) has led to increased scrutiny of these chemicals, and the state of Michigan has been a leader in developing regulations for PFAS compounds. Environmental engineer Mike Ellis recently prepared a white paper focused on the impacts of these regulatory changes to Michigan industries and Michiganders. “Because regulations for PFAS have only recently been developed, most industrial dischargers have not had requirements for PFAS concentrations,” explains Mike.
