On November 15-18, Colorado State University and the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering are hosting Tailings and Mine Waste 2020, a virtual conference covering geotechnical, environmental, and regulatory issues related to tailings and mine waste management. Barr is a Gold-level sponsor of the conference, and three Barr staff members will be featured during technical sessions during the event.
Mohammad Reza Hassanzadeh Gorakhki will present “Hydrologic Predictions of Water Content and Oxygen Concentration in a GeoWaste Test Pile” during the “Reclamation & Remediation” session on November 16 at 4:00-5:30 p.m. MST.
On November 17, Kurt Schimpke will moderate the “Design & Operation 1” session and Jason Harvey will present “Evaluation of Shear Wave Velocity and Void Ratio in Mine Tailings using the Field Velocity Resistivity Probe” during the “Site Characterization & Monitoring 1” session. Both sessions will be held at 4:00-5:30 p.m. MST.
