Rich has nearly two decades of civil engineering experience specializing in structural and geotechnical engineering. He provides design, evaluation, investigation, and inspection services, and manages small and multidisciplinary teams for mining, power, hydroelectric, and natural resource projects. Rich lends his expertise to the design and evaluation of reinforced-concrete, steel, earth-retained, and water-control structures related to concrete and earthen dams, spillways, and tailings impoundments. He conducts alternatives studies, dam safety inspections, seepage and stability analyses, and soils investigations; develops instrumentation and monitoring programs; performs long-range planning for tailings basins; and provides construction observation.
