Over the last four decades, Charlie has specialized in mining-facility site design; hydropower design and construction; geothermal-energy investigations and development; geotechnical engineering and rock mechanics; hydraulics and hydrology; and preparation of construction plans, specifications, and contract documents. Much of his recent work has been conducted in the western United States. Charlie has been involved in new-office startups, headed energy and mine divisions for major engineering companies, and served on national committees for professional organizations.
