Brian Greenwald

Brian Greenwald has three decades of experience providing project management, permitting assistance, and engineering services for clients in the fuels, power, and manufacturing industries. Before joining Barr, he worked as a senior project engineer for Horizon Environmental Corporation in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and two other firms, for more than 25 years.

Brian provides a wide range of air quality permitting and compliance services, including preparing applications for installation permits and renewable operating permits (Title V) for industrial clients, and represents those clients in negotiating permit conditions for true minor, synthetic minor, Title V, and major PSD sources. His experience also encompasses design, pilot-scale testing, construction, and activation of emission-control systems for industrial facilities. He reviews permitting requirements; designs control systems; conducts engineering and economic evaluations to determine economical alternatives for mitigation of discharges to the environment; and provides technical consultation regarding start-up and operation and maintenance of engineered systems. In addition, he performs regulatory compliance evaluations and prepares permit applications, compliance plans, and reports for state and federal programs governing stormwater, oil, polluting materials, and waste.
