Araina’s five years of experience encompass consulting and serving as a process engineer at a northern Minnesota iron-mining operation. Her work for Barr’s industrial clients includes managing projects, facilitating process hazard analyses, devising preventative-maintenance strategies, conducting feasibility studies (including estimating capital and operational costs), creating process-flow and piping-and-instrumentation diagrams, and preparing preliminary equipment specifications and major-equipment lists. She also models energy and mass balances with METSIM, writes reports, and coordinates with vendors.
While earning her degree, Araina completed internships at mineral-processing and paper-manufacturing facilities and coordinated a STEM showcase for elementary-school students and the public.
